10 Reasons Playstation is Better than Xbox!
After Playstation's E3 conference, and I have to admit, I'm a sucker for the hype. Sony proved with this conference that they were going to hold onto their lead with exclusives, and they just rubbed Xbox's nose in it. I'm not going to lie, I thought Microsoft had a decent conference this year, but Sony always comes in full throttle with the single player, story driven games. In honor of this winning streak, I thought I would compile a list of some of the best PS4 exclusives games coming soon, as well as the ones you can play today!
I am a huge Spiderman fan, and when I saw the trailer for this game, it really got my spidey-senses tingling. With a September 5th release date, we will be swinging through New York in just a few short months. If you were lucky enough to visit E3 in person and try the demo for this game, you would really make me jealous. If you need any more convincing of how totally rad this game is going to be, just watch the trailer!
GHOST OF TSUSHIMA
I recently complained to my friends that I wanted a sword swinging samurai game, where I could travel across Asia and live out my weeaboo fantasy, and boy, did Sony deliver. I watched this trailer in awe as it's a game I've been waiting for, and with stunning graphics to boot! It's release date is yet to be announced, but my body is ready.
GOD OF WAR 4
What else can I say about this game that everybody else hasn't already. Having never been a die hard fan of the God of War franchise, I was skeptical of this title. Yet, I picked it up on day one and I'm ashamed of myself for ever questioning it. If you are like me and have never played a GoW game, don't feel as though you need to have too much background of the storyline. The game features a gut wrenching story, with combat that is near perfection. Please give it a try, you will not regret it.
I'm on my second play through of Uncharted 4, because it's THAT good! Although this game has been out a couple years, I still think it's one of the best PS4 exclusives. The graphics are amazing, and the gameplay is so intuitive that it feels like I AM Nathan Drake, except I'm not as cool. I really loved the narrative in this game, and if I were to pick my favorite pirate game, it would still be Uncharted... Sorry Sea of Thieves. You can pick this game up pretty cheap these days, so there's no excuse not to play!
LAST OF US: PART II
I think almost everyone who played The Last of Us: Part I did not foresee a sequel for this game. I personally enjoyed the ending to the first game and didn't see a need for a sequel... until I saw the trailer for the sequel, and now I need to play it. Just like the Uncharted series, Naughty Dog really goes above and beyond to make games immersive, and fluid when it comes to gameplay. I believe this game will be no exception. We are still waiting for a release date, but you can play Part 1 while you wait!
This game right here, is probably my favorite on this list! You're probably wondering how I could say such a thing after listing off games like The Last of Us and God of War, but that just means you underestimated how much of a weeb I am! If you are a fan of JRPGs like myself, this game is an absolute must! I love the stylish graphics and the turn-based combat is so exhilarating to me. I would consider myself more methodical when it comes to video games, so I enjoy a tactical game over a botton-masher. Did I mention you get to explore Tokyo? It's worth the 100 hour time sink, trust me!
DETROIT: BECOME HUMAN
If you haven't read my review on this game, then first of all, shame, and second of all, it's a great game! For my fellow gamers who loved games like Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls, you have to give this game a try! See my review for more details if you are interested!
HORIZON ZERO DAWN
Let me start this off by saying, I freaking love dinosaurs. So, when I heard about a game where you could hunt robot-dinosaurs with a bow and arrow, you know I had to run out and buy it. Aside from being absolutely stunning, as must PS4 exclusives are, I loved the hunting and crafting mechanics of this game. I felt as though there was enough of a challenge that made taking down large enemies very satisfying, and I would say it's worth playing!
Sega has really out done themselves with this game. If you are a lover of the crime thriller genre, and enjoy - of course - a great story, then you should give this game a try. Another case like with God of War, I don't think you need to replay all the other games in this franchise to enjoy the story. Watch a couple youtube summaries on Kazuma Kiryu's story and jump in, because this final chapter will get you hooked!
I feel like the Dark Souls community, and my friends, would shame me if I did not include Bloodborne on this list. I'll go ahead and admit it now, I suck at this game and will never 'get good' so, just leave me to wallow in self pity. Yet, I can't get over the character design and world rendering of this game. It's difficult, but fair, and requires a lot of skill and determination that I just don't have. I enjoy watching playthrough and sobbing as I will never be that good at this game. If you really want a challenge, Bloodborne is the way to go my friends.
